Laterals are getting longer all the time. Clients are spending more time in the hole. Customers want to drill faster, but more importantly, motors need to last the duration of the lateral. The Hex Motor design, distributes forces and also handles vibration. The flat surfaces of the Hex Motor are more forgiving than the ball drive is. We've been able to produce a motor that is more reliable in the long run, and actually utilizes the increased horsepower that the new power sections are putting out. The result is that Impulse clients are drilling longer laterals in the same amount of time as others spend in shorter laterals. Additionally, our customers are not making wasted trips because of motor failure.
